I Spy With My Little Eye…

One way to make a long bus ride feel shorter is to make it a project – for example: camera in hand, see if you can capture interesting moments you drive past!

The light happened to be wonderful, and with the shadows it created, the pavements and roads suddenly became beautiful:

When I looked up, I discovered spring taking over the houses and little parks and sky that we drove past:

Gone in a second – but caught in an image on which I would see much more than what I saw in the short moment I took it.

The boring bus ride becomes a discovery trip. What surrounds me matters all of a sudden – and I become active participant in the journey.  I create my experience.

It’s as I heard someone say recently:

Misery (in this case, the boredom and frustration of a long bus ride) is optional.
