We Give Thanks and Celebrate

Let’s try that this week – St Francis Day is coming up next weekend, 4 October.

Psalm 121

A song of ascents.

¹ I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
² My help comes from God,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

³ She will not let your foot slip—
    she who watches over you will not slumber;
⁴ indeed, she who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

⁵ God watches over you—
    she is your shade at your right hand;
⁶ Brother Sun will not harm you by day,
    nor Sister Moon by night…

⁷ God will keep you from all harm—
    she will watch over your life;
⁸ God will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

Matthew 10:29-31 

²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. ³⁰ And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.³¹ So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
